What’s new on Android
A look at how TickOff has grown, from the first builds to version 1.0.44. Related updates are grouped so they’re easier to catch up on.
1.0.39–1.0.44Widgets, better reminders
and your year in review
and your year in review
- TickOff on your home screen. Add widgets for Tasks, Habits, Focus, Day overview, Notes and Statistics. They adapt to square, wide and tall spaces, use saved account data offline and open the screens you already know.
- A glass finish you can adjust. Liquid glass brings a softer look to the floating navigation bar and add button. It’s on by default, with a clear-to-frosted slider in Settings → Visuals → Display options. You can switch it off whenever you like.
- Reminders that don’t wait for a connection. Alerts now use information saved on your phone instead of waiting for a server response. Recovery after the app process closes is improved, duplicate alerts are guarded against, and a local-save verification bug affecting background sync is fixed.
- Spot tasks with steps to finish. A small checklist replaces the priority dot on tasks with subtasks. It keeps the task’s priority colour and fits in the same space, without adding another row.
- Find work from further back. Search and past calendar dates now include archived tasks, with their original details. Open an old task or duplicate it when you need it again. Calendar dots stay tied to active work, including overdue tasks, rather than completed or skipped history.
- Your year is TickedOff. A six-slide recap brings together your completed tasks, focus time, habit check-ins, productive streak and yearly summary. It’s available from December 20 to January 30, with January showing the previous year. Results keep updating through December 31.
- A recap worth keeping. Save or share the slides as 1080 × 1350 PNGs. The final design has bolder type, larger figures, a geometric year cover and a 3D lavender checkmark tile. Focus hours round to whole numbers in the recap; Statistics keeps the exact durations.
1.0.31–1.0.38Make TickOff feel like yours
- Choose and reorder up to five navigation buttons, with Tasks, Habits, Focus, Notes and Tickie as the defaults. Search finds your saved tasks, habits and notes.
- Sort urgent and important work in the Matrix. Hold and drag tasks between quadrants, with the lower cards kept above the navigation bar.
- Choose how dates and times appear, including 12-hour, 24-hour and system formats.
- Android Back now follows the app’s back arrows through Settings, Statistics, Focus and recently visited tabs.
- Subtasks and tag selections are more compact. Rounded square checkboxes, filled fields and cleaner colour pickers bring the controls together.
- Plus Jakarta Sans is now bundled for app text, the note editor and exports, with medium headings and regular body text.
1.0.21–1.0.30Meet Tickie and keep your progress close
- Statistics remember your selected view and prepared results when you leave and come back. Saved history and profile photos remain available offline and refresh quietly.
- Tickie joins the app as your productivity buddy, using your own Gemini key stored locally with Android Keystore protection. Conversations sync with your account, and suggested tasks open for review before saving.
- Four short welcome screens introduce tasks, habits, focus and Tickie, using the supplied Tickie character.
- Create and select tags with the web account’s colours. Compact tag pills sit above task titles, and new tags can be saved offline.
- Habit cards show weekly check-ins and amount progress. Tap an amount ring to update it; a habit only counts as done when you reach the target. Habits not scheduled today stay separate.
- Pro users can connect Google Calendar and Telegram from Settings. Existing connections can still be disconnected after Pro expires.
- Task, habit and focus notifications use the TickOff mark once, as the small icon. Startup restores saved tasks first and defers nonessential processing.
- Server protections strengthen habit limits, retry handling and payment-provider separation. New Google Play purchases remain unavailable until purchase verification and products are configured.
1.0.11–1.0.20Focus, offline saving and a clearer picture
- Calendar movement and editor transitions became smoother, with a branded splash screen and bundled fonts.
- Start Focus from a saved task, change the linked task without resetting the timer, and adjust durations by tapping the idle timer. The default cycle is 25 minutes of focus, a five-minute break and a longer break after four completed sessions.
- Focus records save locally and sync to the account. Early stops can be saved after at least five minutes of actual focus.
- Task scheduling saves straight from its review. Notes save offline without closing the editor, with a green check after a durable local save.
- Subscription settings show Free or Pro status, billing dates and the appropriate management route. Account exports offer PDF or a full-history CSV ZIP for Pro users.
- Share notes as readable image pages or a paginated PDF. Skipping a recurring task keeps its next occurrence, while preserving Undo.
- Statistics gained Tasks, Focus, Habits and Achievements views, five time periods, archived history and portrait image sharing. Completed habits fade while their controls stay usable.
1.0.0–1.0.10The everyday essentials
- The first Android builds brought tasks, habits and notes together with a floating navigation bar and TickOff’s purple styling.
- Swipe tasks forward or back through their statuses and check in on habits, with immediate local feedback and account sync.
- A selected-day calendar, expandable month view and compact task editor make it easier to plan work. Add reminders, priorities, recurring schedules and reorderable subtasks.
- Rich notes support headings, lists, links and formatting in an offline editor. A compact toolbar and colour palette keep the writing area clear.
- Official Tabler icons give habit choices and controls a consistent look. Saved account snapshots restore on opening, with background refresh and reminder checks.
